TORONTO (CP) -- Chalk up another cover for Vince Carter. The high-flying Toronto Raptors star will be the face of Electronic Arts' NBA Live 2004 video game, EA announced Monday.

Carter will appear on packaging and merchandising for the game, which is entering its 10th season. EA says the title is the best-selling basketball video game of all time with more than 18 million units sold.

In a statement, Carter said being part of the game was "a tremendous honour and a terrific moment in my basketball career."

The six-foot-six guard-forward, who calls himself "a longtime gamer," was previously on the cover of the rival Microsoft NBA Inside Drive 2002 game for Xbox.

But he has endured some hard times recently, sidelined by injury.

Still Carter is also no stranger to toy stores. McFarlane Toys, the brainchild of Calgary comic entrepreneur and toy entrepreneur Todd McFarlane, has included Carter in his line of NBA figures.

Electronic Arts also announced Monday that Carmelo Anthony, who led Syracuse University to the U.S. college championship earlier this year, will be on the cover of NCAA March Madness 2004.

Anthony was taken third overall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets.

Last year's NBA Live cover boy was Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets. Others on the cover include Steve Francis, Kevin Garnett, Tim Thomas, Antoine Walker, Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond.

Carter enters his sixth NBA season this fall with a career scoring average of 24.1 points per game. A former NBA rookie of the year, he was selected to the 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 NBA all-star games, leading all vote-getters three times.

Carter represented the U.S. at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and is currently training with the American squad prior to a qualification tournament in Puerto Rico for the 2004 Games in Athens.

NBA Live 2004 and NCAA March Madness 2004 are both scheduled for release this fall. The NBA title will be available for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and PC.

NCAA March Madness, out on PlayStation 2 and Xbox, is not available in Canada.
